Terms & Policies

These Terms & Policies provide a plain-language overview of key policies for Peace Sign Notary Services, LLC (“Company”). They are a plain-language overview and does not replace the full Client Service Agreement and any applicable addenda.

 

Services Offered

  • Mobile general notary services (appointment-only).

  • Loan signing services (when applicable; see Loan Signing Addendum).

  • Services are performed at a client-designated location when safe and appropriate.

 

Scheduling & Availability

  • Appointments are requested online or via Company-approved communication and are not confirmed until the Company confirms.

  • After-hours appointments are by request only, subject to availability, and may include additional fees.

 

Fees & Payment

  • All fees are disclosed before appointment confirmation and may vary by document type, number of notarizations/signers, travel distance, time of day, and witness needs.

  • Payment for individual/general notary appointments is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Business clients may be invoiced based on agreed payment terms.

  • Additional fees may apply for travel outside the standard service area, parking/tolls, after-hours service, company-provided witnesses, excessive wait time, and late cancellations/no-shows.

 

Cancellations & No-Shows

  • Cancellations/reschedules should be made at least two (2) hours before the appointment time.

  • Cancellations within two (2) hours, lockouts, or no-shows may result in a trip fee and/or the full service fee.

  • If an appointment cannot proceed due to missing/invalid ID, missing signers/witnesses, incomplete documents, or refusal to sign, a trip fee and applicable fees may apply.

 

Identification & Legal Compliance

  • All signers must present valid, government-issued photo identification that meets Virginia notary requirements.

  • The Company may refuse service if ID is invalid, coercion/incapacity is suspected, or the notarization would violate Virginia law.

  • The Company does not provide legal advice and cannot select the type of notarial certificate needed. The signer or document preparer must indicate which certificate is required.

 

Witnesses

  • If witnesses are required, clients are responsible for providing them unless otherwise arranged.

  • Company-provided witnesses may be available by request, subject to availability and additional fees.

 

Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Client information is handled confidentially and used only for service delivery, compliance, and recordkeeping as required or permitted by law.

  • Clients may receive appointment confirmations and service-related communications by call, text, or email.

 

Right to Refuse Service & Safety

  • Service may be refused or discontinued when legal/ethical standards are compromised, required conditions are not met, or safety concerns exist.

  • Clients should provide a safe, well-lit signing environment and clear access/parking instructions; pets must be secured.

 

Limitations

  • The Company is not responsible for the content, legality, or enforceability of documents, or legal outcomes resulting from a notarization.

  • Errors & Omissions insurance is maintained.
